Registration FAQs

Q: When is the registration deadline?

A: Registration for the HOKA ONE ONE Chicago Half Marathon and 5K sells out so register as soon as possible!

Q: How do I confirm my entry to the Chicago Half Marathon/5K?

A: After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please be sure and check your “junk” or “spam” filter and add the domain @LT.LIFE to your safe sender list.  Alternatively you may confirm your entry here.

Q: Where do I get my bib, T-shirt and goody bag?

A: You can pick up all of your race materials at Packet Pick Up during the Healthy Way of Life Expo at the Roosevelt Collection Friday, September 25 from 12PM – 7PM and Saturday, September 26 from 10AM – 5PM. Only those who purchased the Will Call option may pick up their packet on race morning.

Q: May I defer until next year?

A: You can defer your entry to the 2021 HOKA ONE ONE Chicago Half Marathon & 5K. Please visit the Changes & Deferrals section for more information on how to complete your deferral.

Q: Can I switch from one race to another?

A: Yes. Please visit the Changes & Deferrals section for more information on how to complete your changes online.

As Race Day approaches and you feel that the distance you originally registered for is no longer feasible, please visit the Solutions booth at the Expo with your packet in order to change.  Please Note: All upgrades are subject to a race change charge in addition to the difference in fees. Service fees apply. Those transferring from the Chicago Half Marathon to the 5K will not be charged a change fee and will not be refunded the difference in race fees.

Registration Change Fees

Prior to Tuesday, Sept 22 at 9:00 p.m. (online only): $10

After Tuesday, Sept 22 at 9:00 p.m. (in-person, at Expo only): $20

Q: I have a friend who cannot participate in the event, may I take his/her place?

A: No. Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using another person’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy. Any participant found using another’s bib or selling their bib through a third vendor party is subject to immediate disqualification as well as potential banning from all Life Time, Inc events. Don’t do it, you can and will be caught.

Q: Is there a VIP registration option?

A: Yes, please visit the VIP Packages section for more details on the packages available.

Q: I cannot race and would like a refund.

A: Unfortunately, the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K has a strict No Refunds policy. You have the option of deferring your entry to 2021. Please see the Race Changes & Deferral section for more information.

 

Expo FAQs

Q: Can a friend pick up my packet?

A: Yes, they will need to bring a picture your photo ID (a smart phone picture will suffice).

Q: There is no way I can pick up my packet at the Expo and my friend cannot pick it up either. HELP- what is my next option?

A: You must have purchased the Will Call option in order to pick up your packet on race morning. Contact our team for additional assistance, email info@chicagohalfmarathon.com.

Q: What if I do not know my bib number/ I never received my bib number my email?

A: You will be assigned a bib number at the Expo during Packet Pick Up. Please bring your valid photo ID in order to retrieve your packet from the kiosks.

Q: I am in the wrong corral what can I do?

A: You are free to move back a corral should you wish, without notifying us. Should you need to move up a corral, please visit the Solutions booth at the Expo with proof of your most recent finish time to move up.

Q: I did not opt-in for the shuttle service during registration and now I need to.

A: Shuttle tickets are opt-in only for race participants.

 

Logistics FAQs

Q: Will there be on-site parking for Race Day?

A: We highly recommend that all participants utilize public transportation on Race Day. We cannot stress this enough. Limited public parking will be available at the Museum Of Science and Industry garage located at 57th Street and Cornell. This lot will open at 5:00 a.m. Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. $20 flat daily fee will be charged upon arrival.

Q: How will the Chicagoland Half Marathon Series medals be awarded?

A: Series medals will be handed out at the Chicagoland Half Marathon Series tent located in the center of the Finish Festival immediately following the race. *Limited availability in the challenge, based on time of registration.

 

Shuttle FAQs

Q: How do I pick up my shuttle bus pass?

A: Shuttle pass assignments/tickets will be applied to the athletes’ bibs, relative to the location and time indicated during registration.

Q: I purchased Race Day Will Call, but will not have my bib/shuttle ticket prior to boarding the shuttle bus, what can I do?

A: Simply indicate that you have purchased Will Call to Shuttle Staff. Lists of all Race Day Will Call purchases will be provided at all loading locations.
