When is the registration deadline?

Online registration for the 2024 Life Time Chicago Half Marathon and 5K presented by HOKA will close when the event sells out or until the Pre-Race Party closes Saturday, September 28, whichever occurs first. Should space remain, on-site registration will be available at the Expo.

How do I confirm my entry to the Life Time Chicago Half Marathon & 5K presented by HOKA?

Registration confirmation will be available once registration opens in early January 2024.

Where do I get my bib, shirt and goody bag?

You must pick up all of this at Packet Pick Up at the Pre-Race Party. Athletes who purchased the bib mailing option should expect to receive their packet in the mail prior to race weekend. Only those who purchased the Will Call option may pick up their packet on race morning.

May I defer to next year?

You may defer to next year by logging onto your ChronoTrack account. To defer your registration, please follow the instructions here.

Can I switch from one distance to another?

Yes. As Race Day approaches and you feel that the distance you originally registered for is no longer appropriate, you may transfer your entry to the other distance in-person at the Solutions kiosk at the Pre-Race Party/Packet Pickup.

NOTE: Anyone wishing to transfer from the 5K to the Chicago Half Marathon (upgrade) must pay a race change fee PLUS the difference in registration fees. Service fees apply. Those transferring from the Chicago Half Marathon to the 5K will not be charged a change fee and will not be refunded the difference in race fees.

Prior to Thursday, Sept 21 at 9:00 p.m. (online only): $30

After Thursday, Sept 21 at 9:00 p.m. (in-person, at Expo only): $30

How do I pick up my shuttle bus pass?

Shuttle pass assignments/tickets will be applied to the athletes’ bibs, relative to the location and time indicated during registration.

Is there a VIP registration option?

Yes, register for a VIP package during event registration (registration opens early January 2024).

I have a friend who cannot participate in the event, may I take his/her place?

No. Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an  emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using another person’s registration.

Will there be on-site parking?

We highly encourage the use of public transportation as parking is limited near Jackson Park. Limited street parking is available along the Midway Plaisance. If you drive, plan to arrive early. The event is not responsible for those who drive and do not make the start of the race. Please pay attention to the NO PARKING zones near the race venue.

How will the Chicago Half Marathon Series medals be awarded?

Series medals will be handed out at the Life Time Chicago Half Marathon Series tent located in the center of the Finish Festival immediately following the race.

What do I need to pick up my race packet?

Please bring your valid photo ID and confirmation email to the Packet Pick Up kiosks at the Expo in order to receive your bib. Bib numbers will be emailed prior to race weekend.

Can a friend pick up my packet?

Yes, the friend/family picking up the packet will need to bring a copy of the athlete’s photo ID (a digital copy of the ID on a cell phone will suffice).

Can I bring my dog to the finish fest?

Only service animals are allowed in the finish festival.

Shuttle Service

Can I change my shuttle pick up location from my original selection?

Yes, in order to change your shuttle pick up location you will need to contact the athlete services team via email at

My plans have changed, and I no longer need the shuttle. What should I do?

No refunds will be available if you purchase a shuttle and decide not use this service.

I purchased Race Day Will Call, but will not have my bib/shuttle ticket prior to boarding the shuttle bus, what can I do?

If you purchased race day will call + a shuttle ticket, you will receive an email with a QR code that should be used to board the shuttle. Please present your QR code to board the shuttle.
