The Chicago Half Marathon & 5K is held in Jackson Park each year and are easily accessible by car, train or plane. Check out the many amenities available to make this an unforgettable race weekend!

AIR TRAVEL


If you plan on flying into Chicago, you have two airport options: Chicago Midway (MDW), located 11 miles southwest of downtown, and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) located 15 miles northwest of the city.

Taxi
Taxi cab service is readily available from both airports.

CTA Trains
Public transit train service is available at both city airports, with various drop-off points throughout downtown Chicago. One-way train fares are $2.25 from all locations, with exception of departing from O’Hare ($5.00) via farecard kiosks at each station, and travel times to/from downtown range from 30-45 minutes, depending on days/times.

Airport Express to Downtown Chicago

Another fast, comfortable and affordable means of getting downtown hotel is via Airport Express. For a hassle-free transition at a reasonable price, you will be taken to downtown Chicago in vans leaving every 5–10 minutes. Stop by one of their conveniently located counters (terminals 1, 2, 3 & 5 at O’Hare or across from Southwest at Midway) and check in. **You will be contacted by the Chicago Half Marathon VIP coordinator after purchasing a VIP package. Hotel reservations and accommodations will be booked, confirmed and managed by the VIP coordinator.

Spectator Viewing Locations

Spectators have a couple of great options to watch their friends and family participate in the Chicago Half Marathon or 5K. Spectators may view the start and finish of the events in Jackson Park. After the start, spectators can see participants at the 1-mile mark, 4-mile mark, 5-mile mark and the 12-mile mark by walking within Jackson Park. The Jackson Park area provides ample opportunities for spectators to see their loved ones participate.
