Eligibility

Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago's currently enrolled students, individual or team.
  • If the winning entry was produced by a team, each shares the $1,500 scholarship prize equally
  • The team leader representing the winning entry would be the official signature for the print.
Specifications

The design must be original. Submissions will be due Friday, June 10, 2011 during a 13.1 hour event at the Loop campus. AI-Chicago Graphic Design/VC Staff will be on-site for any assistance needed and lab assignments will be made at the 2nd Floor Academic Office.

Participants can only submit one work of art for consideration.

The design must be incorporated on the template provided and contained within the Live Design Area: 17.5" x 20.75" (allow 0.25" margin on top and both sides for framing).

Do not sign your piece.

Do not change or distort the official Chicago Half Marathon and 5K logo.

Artwork Format/Specifications

You must submit your work on a CD-ROM on Friday, June 10, 2011. Write your entry number and full name(s) on the top of the CD. If designed by the team, in addition, indicate the name of the designated Team Leader.

Example: 5_John_Smith.Ai
(entry number_first name_last name.Ai

Work must be a portrait format to fit the template provided. Final submission will be Adobe Illustrator CS4 or CS5 (Ai) with: 1. Embedded 300 dpi high resolution images in CMYK mode 2. Outline types (create outline).

Do not submit linked images or fonts.

Bleed your design to the bleeding guideline.

Design can be composed in full color (CMYK).

The chosen illustration will appear publicly on possible formats such as web sites, publicity posters, event programs and at The 15th Annual Chicago Half Marathon and 5K Fitness Expo. The first place winning design is designated to be the Official Runner's poster. The artist agrees to accept the prize scholarships as complete payment for their design and furthermore agrees to relinquish all rights and claims for any future royalties. No part of the chosen illustration may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopy, recording or any information storage and retrieval systems now known to be invented, or without permission in writing.
